Academy practising individual members have been through a rigorous vetting
procedure meaning that The Academy's members are accredited rather than merely checked.
Individual Membership - Entrance Criteria
Application form completed and signed
A copy of the applicant’s CV or resumé
A professional qualification (if such exists) appropriate to the applicant’s vocation and proof of the professional body the applicant’s belongs to (if appropriate)
Two satisfactory references from solicitors and/or barristers (applicants are asked to submit three references, however, only two are taken up).
Training in expert witness work is preferable but not essential.
The Academy also offers membership in other categories:
Associate (for those who wish to become expert witnesses but are not sufficiently experienced to qualify for individual membership)
Non-Practicing (for users of Experts solicitors and barristers)
Corporate (for commercial organisations)
