Career
 
Professor of psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London since 1997. More than 20 years experience of research on human face recognition. Author of more than 60 scientific articles in this area. Research includes scientific evaluation of the VIPER video identification system in collaboration with West Yorkshire Police, and identification and comparison of faces from CCTV images.Research papers have been presented at conferences in Australia, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and USA. Current projects include further work on video identification procedures, on street identification procedures and research on the effect of stress on eyewitness identification. Experience working as an expert witness since 1999 and have been instructed by both defence and prosecution. Expert reports can be provided on eyewitness identification, identity parades, video identification, identification from CCTV, facial mapping and facial comparisons, facial composite construction.
