On 30th June The Academy of Experts is holding its conference The Immune Expert... at the Brewery, London EC1. The Conference will focus on some of the most pressing issues facing Experts today.

Speakers at the Conference will be drawn from the judiciary, the Bar and some of today’s leading Experts.

The case of Sir Roy Meadow sent shock waves through the community. Different aspects caused horror and concern in different camps. Coming after other cases where the expert evidence gave ‘concern’ the after shocks of Meadow are still reverberating.

  • Does an expert have blanket immunity from anything and everything?
  • Should there be immunity – and if so from what?
  • Is the trial judge to become the ‘official judge & jury’?
  • Are there standards with which the expert has to comply and will they actually be enforced?

The questions are almost endless whilst the answers are sparse.

This Conference will address these fundamental questions and will provide sensible practical answers. As always with Academy conferences delegate participation will be encouraged. An integral part of the day will be a series of essential ‘updates for experts’.
