As part of its drive to work closer with other professional bodies in the furtherance of cost effective dispute resolution The Academy of Experts signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners on 24th July 2007.
The aim of the document is to set out the framework for co-operation and
collaboration agreed between the two bodies.
Co-operation and collaboration between CRFP and TAE will help to:
- Promote high standards in relation to forensic practitioners and expert witnesses
providing assistance to courts and other tribunals.
- Protect the public and the public interest by encouraging early and effective
action where doubts are raised about the fitness to practise of individuals who
are registered with both bodies
- Ensure that the functions and meaning of the registers maintained by both bodies
are clearly understood by those who consult them.
The Memorandum relates to areas of common ground between CRFP and TAE. It
is intended to clarify their respective roles and responsibilities and outline
mechanisms to promote effective liaison and collaboration between the two
organisations. It does not affect or amend any other policies or agreements relating
to the activities of CRFP or TAE.
